Jabber Setup

Jabber Setup

Open Jabber by double clicking on the Jabber icon  or click Start, Cisco Jabber (folder), Cisco Jabber (program).

When Jabber window appears, enter your network username in the format of name@co.door.wi.us, Continue

Enter your network password, Sign In

You may receive a pop-up window requesting an update to credentials, click Update

If presented with the following screen, enter your username (no need for the @co.door.wi.us) and your network password again, and then select OK.  Note: This is the first username and password you enter when you log into a PC.

If your credential information is not synchronized with the Cisco server, you may see a phone icon with an error in the bottom left hand part of your screen.

Click on the phone icon, select ‘Use my desk phone for calls’, select the ‘Cisco 78xx’ option.

If Jabber continues to display errors, click the Settings (Menu) icon  in Jabber (see below), Options, Accounts.

Cisco Jabber requires three separate credentials but we use your network username and password for each of these.  If there is an error indicator in any one of them, reenter your network username and password for that service and click on Apply.  When successful, the Accounts window is displayed without errors.  Click OK to close the Options windows and return to the Jabber home screen.

Once successfully setup, you may resize your Jabber window and drag it to a convenient spot on your Desktop.  If minimized, you will continue to see a small tab at the top of your screen. (below)

When you hover your cursor over the tab, it will expand out to allow options for search, call, start conversation, and voicemail.
